On April 17, 2013, the Arkansas state Court of Appeals ruled in the case of a mother contesting the removal of her parental rights. The court applied the ICWA requirements of proof and an ICWA expert testified at the hearing due to the possible eligibility of the minor for membership in an Indian tribe.
